MIMI & NIKKO: SCANDAL IN ATLANTA BECOMES ‘MOST PIRATED’ SEX TAPE – TMZ reports this week that Mimi & Nikko: Scandal in Atlanta has become the “Most Pirated Sex Tape of All Time.” In a staff-written article, the site said it has “overtaken the Kim Kardashian skin flick in popularity -- in fact it's already the most pirated sex tape of all time.” TMZ quoted a Vivid representative as saying that “in just nine hours, the company sent out more than 1,200 cease-and-desist letters to websites that were illegally hosting it,” adding that “Vivid honcho Steve Hirsch isn't messing around either -- telling us, ‘If you even try to illegally download this tape we will come after you full force. We have three full-time attorneys prepared and ready to go.’ The popularity of the tape was signaled by early interest, with pre-sales totaling roughly $400,000.” Memberships in the vivid.com website also skyrocketed, with 15 new joins a minute, according to TMZ.

There was huge interest in the tape among viewers of WorldStartHipHop.com as well, which reported nearly 3 million views when it posted this headline: “Mimi & Nikko Of Love & Hip Hop Speak Out On Sex Tape, Stevie J's Feelings, Joseline Taking Shots & More! ?  RadarOnLine also covered the Mimi Faust story during the week with this headline: “From the Bedroom To The Beach! Sex Tape Star Mimi Faust Shows Off Her Body Of Work In L.A.” The story showed a pictorial of Mimi in a bikini on a sunny California beach.

CNN's 'The Buzz' covered the Mimi & Nikko: Scandal in Atlanta sex tape story and said that it was the new “Mt. Everest of celebrity sex tapes.”  Mike Walters of TMZ was a guest on the show and commented about the problem of piracy when a tape is so hot. He also said he thought “Steven Hirsch is a genius."

SALON.COM ‘EXPLAINS ALL’ ON CELEBRITY SEX TAPE PHENOMENON – Writer Tracy Clark-Flory wrote about celebrity sex tapes this week on Salon.com. The headline of the story was compelling: “Reality TV Sex Tapes, Explained: ‘Love and Hip Hop's’ Mimi Faust and Nikko Smith are the latest to make an X-rated premiere. Does it pay off?” She then wrote: “This week, Vivid Entertainment released a sex tape starring Mimi Faust and Nikko Smith from ‘Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta’ — and it’s already broken porn-pirating records. The VH1 stars claim the video was intended to be private but — stop me if you’ve heard this one before — it was somehow leaked.   Who better to explain the phenomenon than Steven Hirsch himself, founder of Vivid, the same company that brought you Kim Kardashian, Superstar and Farrah Superstar: Backdoor Teen Mom. His explanation is simple: ‘Reality TV stars are very aware of the fleeting nature of fame and having a sex tape distributed by Vivid may not guarantee fame for all,’ he said. ‘It sure has worked very well for some.’ Clark-Flory then recapped some of the most notorious tapes. She noted that Farrah Superstar: Backdoor Teen Mom “brought 2 million viewers to Vivid’s website in the 12 hours after its premiere — that’s almost four times as many visitors as Kim Kardashian’s tape garnered during it’s initial online debut. Now Abraham is penning an erotica series, the first of which will be titled, ‘Celebrity Sex Tape: In the Making.’” Of the Kardashian tape, Clark-Flory wrote: “She claims the tape of her with former boyfriend Ray J. was leaked. Kardashian filed a lawsuit against Vivid Entertainment for distributing the film but agreed to a reported $5 million settlement. The aftermath: She’s on the cover of Vogue, for crying out loud.”

VIVID MENTIONED IN SPECULATION ABOUT ERICA MENA SEX TAPE – EnStarz.com reported this week that “despite rumors of another Love & Hip Hop cast member (this time from NY show) was releasing a sex tape, Erica Mena and girlfriend Cyn Santana won't be on board.” The website cited reports in Hollywoodlife.com that Vivid has obtained footage of “Mena getting raunchy with herself.” EnStarz noted that “Mena has since denied the rumors taking to Twitter to tell her followers not to feed into the ‘bullsh**t.’ Founder of Vivid, Steven Hirsch said he would happily accept a sex tape from Mena. ‘We would love to talk to Erica. We are always looking for hot new celebs and Erica would fit in perfectly,’ he said.”

VIVID CABARET GIRLS GET BASEBALL TIPS – Yardbarker.com, the Fox Sports site that gathers “real time rumors, gossip, opinions and humor from the best sports blogs,” turned its headlights on Vivid Cabaret in New York City this week. The story noted that the baseball season is just 1/1000th complete, but it is still “perfect timing with our friends from Vivid Cabaret in New York City celebrating the return of baseball, and especially the awesome tips that they receive from visiting ballplayers. Tip pun intended if you’d like it to be. “I love baseball,” purred Vivid Cabaret NYC Girl Zoe, “actually it’s the players that I really love, haha!” Vivid Cabaret NYC Girl Yvonne agreed, “Baseball players are good tippers–I can’t wait to take my clothes off for some of the Yankees–they will be coming to Vivid Cabaret, I’m sure!” she promised. “I danced last night for a famous baseball player and he was very nice,” cooed Vivid Cabaret Girl Carmella,
