PORN STAR BALL TOUR OFF TO AWESOME START Ladies, get your G-strings and dancing shoes ready for Vivid's Porn Star Ball Tour when it comes to a city near you! The launch of the tour on June 28th in Chicago was spectacular - with a full house of 2,500 fans on hand at Club Vision. Former Playboy Playmate of the Year Jenny McCarthy made a surprise visit as a bevy of beautiful lady contestants vied to convince the audience that they could really imitate their favorite porn star. The Chicago winner of $1,000 in the come-as-your-favorite-porn-star competition was Melissa Ongenae; runners up were Sladjana Velisavljevic and Nicole Gruper. With its "less is best" costume theme, the world-famous Vivid Girls pick the three finalists at each venue and the fans choose the winner. Next stop on the 15-city tour is St. Louis, July 19th at the Velvet Lounge, (1301 Washington Avenue, 314-241-8178). Following St. Louis the tour moves to The Factory Nightclub in Los Angeles on July 26th, then on to The Factory in San Francisco on August 1st, The Roxy in New York City on August 22nd, and Church in Denver on September 20th. Vivid has teamed up with top concert promoter Nikita Events and COG1 Digital Marketing to produce the tour, with the Vivid Girls and the Nikita Dancers on hand at each venue and top DJs Donald Glaude and Christopher Lawrence alternating performances at the events.
JENNA TAKES A TOUR WITH LARRY - Vivid Girl Jenna Jameson attracted thousands of fans in Hollywood, San Diego and Cincinnati during Freedom Tour 2003 in celebration of the Fourth of July and our First Amendment rights. Jenna was accompanied by porn legend Larry Flynt as the tour visited Hustler stores in four-cities and two states. At the first stop, an estimated 2,000 fans lined up along Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood to get an autograph from Jenna. On Tuesday night at the San Diego Hustler store, an estimated 1,500 fans waited more than four hours to meet Jenna, and the scene was repeated twice the next day in Flynt's hometown, Cincinnati, and the suburb of Monroe.

Sigesmund writes extensively this week about the mainstreaming of pornography in America. He focuses his attention on Vivid Entertainment and Vivid Girl Jenna Jameson. The article opens with a quote from Bill Asher, President and CEO of Vivid, who comments on some of the questions and "reviews" he gets from parents of kids at the school his daughter attends. Says Asher: "A lot of the women will say they'd like to see more plot. It's nice to hear the advice, but it always feels strange to me to have someone's mother give you her take on our porn movies." The article also notes that "Three 'Vivid girls' were featured in Vanity Fair's Oscar issue and this September, their images will start appearing on Sims snowboards."
